If you’re a teacher of black students & you denigrate their culture then you shouldn’t be in the classroom

White supremacy makes some teachers think they have to strip away kid’s cultures.

I remember back when I was still in middle school, I had a really pretentious and REALLY young cishet white guy as a teacher. A teacher in a catholic school in a very black neighborhood.

He always was saying some racist shit every other day. But when my class was being a little bit rowdy at the end of the day once, he just exasperatedly called us “ebonic retards” and angrily dismissed us. My mom complained to the principal, and the teacher was like “Oh I don’t remember that ever happening *whistles and looks away*” and he never. Got. In Trouble.

The motherfucker is dead anyways so at the very least he’s too busy burning in hell to spread his antiblackness.

There is a huge, huge difference between when people like my family mixes their native language and English together in a sentence, and you peppering random Asian words (e.g. Korean and Japanese that you learned from anime or Kpop) into your English sentence. What my family does is called code-switching (common among bilingual or multilingual speakers), but what you’re doing is accessorizing and appropriating. So don’t give me that “if Asians can mix their language and English together in a sentence, I can, too!” No.
